Title: Introduction to Filmmaking: From Script to Screen Duration: 6 hours (including lunch break) Course Overview: Morning Session (3 hours): Introduction to Filmmaking (30 minutes): Brief history of filmmaking. Overview of different roles in filmmaking (director, producer, cinematographer, editor, etc.). The Art of Storytelling (45 minutes): Understanding the importance of storytelling in filmmaking. Basics of narrative structure (beginning, middle, end). Introduction to scriptwriting. Practical Exercise: Scriptwriting (45 minutes): Participants will be given prompts to create short film ideas. Guidance on structuring a short script (5-10 minutes). Break (15 minutes): Participants can grab a snack and refresh. Introduction to Filmmaking Equipment (45 minutes): Overview of cameras, lenses, and other essential equipment. Demonstration of camera operation and basic shooting techniques. Afternoon Session (3 hours): Practical Exercise: Filming (1.5 hours): Participants will be divided into small groups. Each group will be given a script (previously written or provided). Hands-on experience with setting up shots, framing, and capturing footage. Lunch Break (1 hour): Participants can enjoy a provided lunch and socialize with instructors and fellow participants. Introduction to Editing (30 minutes): Overview of editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro). Basic editing techniques and principles. Practical Exercise: Editing (1 hour): Each group will edit their footage into a short film. Guidance and assistance from instructors. Screening and Feedback (30 minutes): Each group presents their short film to the class. Constructive feedback and discussion led by instructors. Wrap-Up and Q&A (15 minutes): Recap of key learnings and takeaways. Opportunity for participants to ask any remaining questions. Conclusion: By the end of the one-day filmmaking camp, participants will have gained a basic understanding of the filmmaking process, from scriptwriting to editing. They will have hands-on experience with essential equipment and techniques, as well as a completed short film to showcase their newly acquired skills.
